Are Reconditioned Electronics a Good Deal? By Kelsey Williams of Safe-Card ID Have you ever wondered if a refurbished electronic item was a good buy? I have wondered that myself. In researching a product, I have learned that refurbished and reconditioned are not the same thing. A refurbished electronic item is considered new, not used. The refurbished product is not able to be sold with the perfectly new products because it has been previously sold or the product has damaged packaging. When a refurbished product is received back at the manufacturer, the technical service department tests the product, cleans it and makes sure that it is up to manufacturer specifications. If the product can meet the criteria of the manufacturer, the product is put on the market as refurbished at a discounted price. The great thing about these products is that most all manufacturers provide the same manufacturer warranty as if the product was purchased brand new. Something to think about in these tough economic times.
