Following are some of the common uses: Membership Cards Gift Cards Loyalty Cards Frequent Shopper Cards Access and Security Cards Employee Badges Student Badges Custom ID badges can be made by obtaining an id card printer and card design software. After creating a design in the software, the printer will produce badges based on the layout made. If only a handful of badges are needed, it is often more effective to have an identification card company provide a professional design and produce completed badges for the event or organization. Following are some questions that need to be answered to produce the best custom id badge either in house or with a service bureau company. 1. Does the card need to be printed on both sides? 2. Will the printing be full color (photos & logos) or single color? 3. Will visual identification be one of the purposes of the badge? 4. Will the card be used to access a building or network? 5. Will the badge be exposed in a rough environment? 6. Will the badge be worn or carried? 7. When is the expected replacement timeframe? 8. Does the badge need embedded security features?
